New in Copia Copilot: Multi-Project Item Context Selection!

We're making Copilot even more powerful and efficient! You can now select multiple project items as attached context when chatting with Copilot.

Why This Matters

PLC projects are often too large to attach entirely to Copilot due to token limits. With this update, you can choose specific items—like multiple AOIs, routines, or other components—to provide better context for your requests while still being under the token limit. Prior to this improvement, Copilot users were only able to attach one item as context.

What This Unlocks

  • 📝 Generate documentation for multiple AOIs, Routines, etc. in one request
  • 🔍 Analyze and compare several routines at once
  • 🔄 Modify multiple items in a single conversation
  • ⚡ Save time by reducing repetitive queries

See It in Action 🎥

Watch this quick demo to see how you can generate documentation for multiple AOIs in a single request using this new feature:

Introducing Rung and Line-Level Merging for Rockwell Studio 5000!

We're excited to announce enhancements to our Advanced Merge tool in Source Control, designed to give you even greater flexibility when merging Studio 5000 projects.

What's New?

Available now, our latest update introduces deeper merge improvements to Copia's Advanced Merge Tool, which provides more granular merge capabilities at the rung and line level for Ladder Logic and Structured Text routines. This means you can now resolve conflicts with greater precision, choosing specific changes within a routine instead of being limited to selecting an entire routine from one branch.

How This Helps:

  • Reduced Rework: Avoid unnecessary overwrites and manual reconciliation, saving you time and effort.
  • Improved Collaboration: Merge code changes from multiple contributors with confidence and ease.
  • Enhanced Accuracy: Maintain code integrity and minimize the risk of errors during complex merges.
  • Increased Speed: Reduce the amount of time needed to manually merge any items outside of Copia's Advanced Merge Tool

This enhancement is part of our ongoing commitment to provide you with the most powerful and user-friendly Industrial DevOps platform for manufacturing and distribution organizations. We continuously strive to meet the evolving needs of our customers and improve your experience.

Introducing multi-site Agents: Add flexibility to your operations

Hello Everyone!

We are excited to announce the launch of multi-site Agents! This new addition to our Industrial DevOps platform empowers you to scale your operations efficiently and effectively.

What are multi-site Agents?

Previously, Agents in DeviceLink had to be created within a Site, which meant that Agents could connect to Projects within a single Site only. As networked PLCs and industrial devices have become more common, we wanted to enable customers to connect their Agents to Projects at any Site across their entire organization. With multi-site Agents, it is now possible to create Agents at the Organization level and connect them to Projects at any Site.

Users on the Owner’s team can create and manage multi-site Agents by opening the Organization Settings page and selecting the “multi-site Agents” menu option.

Multi-site Agents provide on-demand flexibility for managing your automation infrastructure. You can now deploy agents across multiple sites precisely when and where needed. This means you can optimize resource allocation, reduce overhead, and focus on what matters most – innovation and growth.

Benefits of multi-site Agents:

  • Operational Efficiency: Deploy agents as and where necessary without over-provisioning.
  • Enhanced Flexibility: Scale your operations up or down seamlessly, adapting to fluctuating demands and project needs.
  • Cloud-Powered Agility: Manage multi-site operations effortlessly through our intuitive cloud platform, accessible from anywhere.
  • Security and Adaptability: Our robust security measures, including change management, automated backups, and role-based access control, ensure your operations remain secure and compliant.

Embrace the Future of Industrial Automation

Copia Automation is committed to providing solutions that enable you to navigate the evolving landscape of industrial automation. Multi-sSite Agents represent another step in our journey to empower your organization with the tools needed to achieve scalable growth, drive efficiency, and build a foundation for the connected factory of the future.

Thank you and please reach out if you have any questions or feedback. We love hearing from you!

Sincerely,

Gavin Schalliol

Commit Graph is coming to the Desktop App!

We’re excited to announce the latest update to our Desktop App, which introduces the Commit Graph—a powerful visual tool that helps users better understand and navigate their Git repositories.

Many of you have shared how invaluable the web-app commit graph is for learning Git and increasing your confidence in using it. Since we know that for many of you, most of your work happens within our Desktop App, it only made sense to bring this feature directly to where you spend your time.

The Commit Graph provides a clear, visual representation of your repository’s history, making it easier to track changes, follow branch workflows, and generally understand a repository's history. This feature is especially helpful for those looking to gain a deeper understanding of how branches interact and evolve.

To ensure a smooth rollout, the Commit Graph won’t be enabled by default in this release. However, you can get started today by enabling it in the app’s settings. Check out our Documentation for step-by-step instructions on how to start using the Commit Graph today.

We’re looking forward to hearing how this new feature enhances your workflow!

Happy branching!
